Influence of Mixing-Water Magnetization Method on the Performance of Silica Fume Concrete

The aim of this study is to experimentally investigate the mechanical characteristics concrete combining silica fume (SF) and magnetized water (MW). A total nine mixes were prepared tested for workability, compressive strength, splitting tensile flexural strength. Ordinary tap (TW) MW that was with five proposed different methods utilized in mixes. by passing TW through a permanent magnetic field (having intensities 1.4 Tesla and/or 1.6 Tesla) number cycles, namely 100, 150, 250 cycles. Water analyzed after being using compared characteristics. Non-destructive testing (ultrasonic pulse velocity, Schmidt hammer) also conducted determine effect on prediction Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) carried out produced Regardless method prepare MW, results revealed considerable improvement strength up 80%, 98%, 22%, respectively, when 150 best magnetization found fields 1.6T then 1.4T ultrasonic velocity test resulted good overall error ranged between −12.6% +5.8%. significantly improved microstructure denser structure comparison control conventional concrete.
